New York Times bestselling author Eric Jerome Dickey’s must-read follow-up to Sleeping with Strangers.
Gideon, the hit man introduced in Sleeping with Strangers, returns in this “high-octane”(Publishers Weekly) thriller to discover that a hit has been taken out on him. Is it the man he left alive in Tampa, the cold beauty who taught him how to kill, the scorned woman he still desires, or an unknown enemy? As the hunter becomes the hunted, Gideon will need his friends—and his enemies—to get out of this crisis alive.

Customer Rating: Summary: Waking with enemies Comment: I am an Eric Jerome Dickey fan. I have nothing but great things to say about this book. I won't go into details, you can pick up the book for that. I suggest it. It comes in a series so make sure you pick up the others so you can keep up. NEOSOUL06.
Customer Rating: Summary: Wow! Comment: It's been sometime since I have read any books from Eric Dickey and what was I thinking? Why was I sleeping on this amazing storyteller! I had to slap myself around a bit.
I have been on the edge of my seat, flipping page after page. Leaving the comfort of my bed to creep away to my hiding place to find out what happens next. I am hooked. I love his work, but must admit, the love stories didn't have me on the edge like the action packed world of Gideon. I have read both volumes in 2 days! Me? This is unheard of for me. I have not read like this in years. I can't wait for the next installment, volume 3.
If you want a good read, this book has it all! I hope this series turns into a movie. It would be nice to see Gideon alive on the big screen.
As always, Dickey has a way making his stories turn into a movie in your hands, he does not spare any details. IF, you are looking for classic Dickey, be forewarned, he switched up and changed the game. He brought forth an alter ego with a wicked past and an irresistible charm. Gideon is the Denzel Washington, Training Day type bad boy - you just don't know why you like him, but you just do.
Enjoy!
Customer Rating: Summary: OMG.... I this book was SOOOOOO good. Comment: Eric knows how to tell a story. All of his books are so well put together, they can be made into movies. This book was a great finish to "sleeping with strangers". I can't wait for another masterpiece to surface. Sex, murder and mayhem all rolled into one, what else can a girl ask for.
Customer Rating: Summary: Anxiously waiting for #3!!! Comment: I'm not going to go into a long review of the book..... all I am going to say is that this is an excellent book and I can't wait for part 3!!
Customer Rating: Summary: Terrible affront to literature Comment: Eric Jerome Dickey is a phenomenally successful author, especially popular I gather with African American readers. He has 12 other books to his credit. I decided to see what all the fuss was about.
Now I know: It's SEX and lots of it, extremely explicit with many anatomic and gynecological details.
If the difference between erotica and porn lies in the literary quality of the work, this book definitely falls into the category of straight porn.
I won't bother to describe the plot -- it's laughable -- or the characters -- they're non-existent. But the worst aspect of this terrible affront to literature is the writing which is plain awful. Here's a sample, picked more or less at random:
"I felt as cold as a Siberian wasteland. the same way I had felt that night.
The same way I had felt in North Carolina when I killed Midnight.
The same way I had felt in Montreal when I killed that man for my mother.
The same way I had felt many nights..."
Try that for 383 pages. The first 80 or so are mainly taken up with a three-way sex scene in which our hero exchanges fluids with Lola and "Mrs. Jones. " (I kid you not!) Many shuddering orgasms take place. One of the two women says she aint no "Joanne" -- by which she means she's not a lesbian and it's OK to make love to another woman as long as one penis-bearing indivdual is in the room watching.
For what it's worth, the book takes place in London, my birthplace. For all the local color, it might as well take place in the Mall of America.
I've already wasted far too many words on this alleged book. If you like porn, be my guest. Otherwise, save your time and money.
