Summary: Excellent magazine, this is the Australian version
Comment: This is a great magazine, lots of good patterns each issue with fairly easy to read instructions. The articles are good, too.
The reason it is so expensive here is that, for some reason, Amazon is only selling the Australian version and I guess shipping it here. You can get it elsewhere on the Web for around $20 a year.

Comment: I subscribe to this magazine. The Cover Priceof the September 2008 edition is $5.99. Why would Amazon be charging $66.33 for 6 issues?? Whoa, Nelly! I love the magazine. I would never order it through Amazon!

Comment: I'm rating this item based on the price, not the content. I love this magazine, but I have no clue why it's so expensive. There are plenty of other avenues to buy it (ie. directly) for $25 or less. $89 is just plain crazy.

Summary: Why is this so expensive through amazon??
Comment: First off, I don't understand why this is so expensive through amazon. I live in an area that has no local yarn shops, no knitting clubs, etc. Yet I usually see this magazine in my local walmart or grocery store. So it is not hard to find. I have a subscription to Creative Knitting, ordered it through one of the cards in the magazine. I can't remember how much it was, but certainly not more than $15 or $20 for 6 issues.
As far as the magazine goes, it usually has a range of projects. None of them too difficult or complicated. I like that they always have some small, quick projects. While I may just dream about an intricate fair isle with steeks in another magazine, I will actually make a cotton dishcloth from Creative Knitting. You won't find cutting edge fashions or cashmere yarns here either. Most of the yarns featured are readily available at walmart, hobby lobby, michael's. The patterns are usually so simple that they are good for learning to substitute yarn. Overall, Creative Knitting is not as overwhelming or intimidating as some of the other knitting mags. Definitly a magazine that the beginning knitter should try. And good for simple, quick projects for the more advanced knitter. (But there's no reason to pay $75 for a subscription.)

Comment: This is my favorite knitting mag. Did my reorder through Amazon and waited and waited. The July issue finally arrived in a fairly mangled condition on July 13th. This is not okay. I suppose the problem could be with delivery by the U.S. Postal Service. Hope it doesn't happen again.
