Summary: Loved it, made me think!
Comment: It is an abridged version, which is my only negative. It gave me great information on how to grow and understand my dog. I only wish I could read my dog as well as he reads my own feeling. Now when I see my dogs acting sad or not themselves instead of thinking what is wrong with them I think how am I out of balance. Excercise Discipline Affection really work miracles, after two weeks people could tell the difference. I also enjoyed the fact that it was read by Cesar Milan.

Comment: We returned this item. We had already ordered the complete 1st and 2nd Seasons. This DVD was full of Highlights of the 1st Season. Had we known this we would have spared Amazon the shipping costs both ways. As far as Cesar Millan is concerned, he is amazing. I would recommend this
series to anyone who dosen't want to order the complete series.

Summary: Scary and dangerous
Comment: I had been told that Cesar Millan is an effective trainer, regardless of whether or not you agree with his techniques. Believing something could be learned from watching any good trainer, I decided to check out this video. I was very interested to see how he handled dogs and what techniques were broadly applicable to helping problem dogs. The only thing I learned, though, was what NOT to do!
I was stunned to watch Cesar do things that put the owners in danger, and make novice mistakes with aggressive dogs. In one case, he nearly got a child bitten because he did something that any beginning dog trainer would know not to do. Given all the wonderful things I've heard about him, I never imagined he would do anything so unprofessional and irresponsible.
I saw very little effective training (note that at least twice Cesar was called back because the dog wasn't "fixed".) I saw a lot of questionable actions, dangerous choices, and even flat-out lying (saying a dog was calm when it was clearly very scared and nervous). The only thing good I can say about Cesar is that he is great with the people. A lot of dog trainers could learn from him in that realm!
Maybe Cesar is a better trainer when not dealing with aggressive dogs. I was so disturbed by what I saw on this video that I couldn't bear to watch his other videos. All I can say is please use this video for nothing more than personal entertainment, if you like this sort of thing. If you have an aggressive dog that needs help, please contact a professional dog trainer with lots of experience and avoid Cesar's dangerous techniques.
