Summary: I want one of my own!
Comment: I bought this CD to accompany the book. My one year old twins listen to music at bedtime, and I wanted something new for them. I thought this would be a wonderful choice. Even though Amazon didn't permit me to sample the songs before purchasing, the positive reviews made me feel confident about the music, so I bought it anyway.
Eight glowing reviews still don't do this CD justice. The tunes are familiar to my children, the songs are soothing, and even the few pieces with lyrics are still calming.
This is truly a beautiful CD, and I find myself wanting to purchase another copy to replace my own bedtime music!
I can guarantee that the book and CD will be my go-to gift for new parents in the future, as this is truly a wonderful set and I am more than happy with my purchase.

Summary: Great CD, Beautiful voices, very soothing
Comment: This CD (and the companion book) are beautiful. It has already become a favorite of my wife and kids. Rabbi Andelman has a beautiful voice, and the other singer (Benjamin Dreyfus) is very good as well. We like the musical arrangements and the fact that it is not elevator music.
Our daughter and son already have favorites on the CD's that they ask to be played over and over. If your family is Jewish or is simply looking for exposure to some Jewish standards for broadening, this is a great CD, and the book is a wonderful universal story.

Summary: Not just for children~Not just for Jewish faith~Great for getting to sleep.
Comment: I love this CD. I have a lot of trouble sleeping due to many painful physical conditions. I read the reviews on this and thought why not try it. I am an adult Christian but I love the sound of the Hebrew language. These songs are so calming and soothing. I of course do not know many of the words but that makes no difference. In fact it may help, if I knew the words I'd be trying to sing along. this way I just relax and drift off.
I recommend this to anyone who just wants to be at peace. The Rabbi has a beautiful voice and you cannot help but feel God's love.

Summary: Purchased for a Newborn
Comment: I just love how beautiful the music is and the Rabbi's sweet voice. Hearing these important and powerful prayers set to such lovely, soothing melodies is wonderful. Listen to the audio samples and see if you agree.
I recommend buying this for your own kids or as a gift for babies and young children. There is also a beautifully illustrated companion book (of same title) -they make a great gift as a set.
BTW, although I highly recommend this item for Jewish children, you needn't be Jewish to appreciate its beauty. Everyone should feel welcome to enjoy the music and the beautiful prayers with their children.

Comment: I love Julia's voice but more importantly, so do my three year old and three month old girls! This has become my new baby gift for new families.
